Home to Lady Eleanor Butler and Miss Sarah Ponsonby between 1780 &
1820.They were known far and wide as the Ladies of Llangollen. It is
believed they were one of the first couples to share a civil partnership.
The house is now a museum exhibiting some of the ladies possessions and
giving visitors a taste of what their every day life was like.

Chirk Castle is a magnificent 700 year old marcher fortress with fantastic
views and beautiful gardens. The castle and gardens are open to the public
most of the year.

Snowdonia National Park covers 838 square miles, the highest point being
Snowdon at 1,085 metres and has 37 miles of coastline. If you enjoy

Chester is an old Roman fort dating back to AD 79. The city is still
surrounded by the Roman walls. It has the oldest racecourse in Britain.
The shopping area has a very unusual, two- tier covered shopping arcade.
